2010 - Transition

The year 2010 in a nutshell ,

2010 was a year of meaning.
I don't mean that it was an awesome year without any problems at all , I mean that it was an awesome year with its fair share of upsets and sadness.

It reminded me that all good things come to an end and happiness never lasts uninterrupted.
Nevertheless , during tough times, it shed light on the saying "this too shall pass" , for the tough times did pass , the dark clouds parted and the light shone through .

2010 Brought me new challenges and challenged me to find new solutions for them . I did not completely succeed but I did not fail completely .

The beginning of the year was a bit of a shock with the new workload on our backs. Sacrifice , sacrifice , victory , sacrifice , sacrifice , sacrifice, defeat.
Through defeat we learnt to pick ourselves up and move on with our lives.
Saw that life is hard when things have got no meaning. In a certain period of our lives yes , we will find that life has lost its meaning, that our lives are very empty . Well , think again because when we focus on a certain thing and suddenly lose it all , we've actually been forgetting about the other small stuff that gives our life meaning.

Every year I meet new people , I am thankful for that:)
Every year I gain new experiences ,I am thankful for that:)
Every year I live life with safety and health , I am thankful for that :)

Limits

Icarus flew to a height too great for him . The sun melted the wax on this wings, skillfully crafted by his father , ultimately sending him plummeting down to his death .

Throughout history have we not seen those who have fallen? The higher you go the harder you fall , that is the truth and the truth which we shall live by even though we choose to deny.

How much is too much? What defines an audacious dream and what defines a realistic dream?
Why are geniuses sometimes dismissed as madmen , fools , dreamers , why are they confined to the narrow mindsets adopted by the ignorant ?

How do we know when to stop . What are our limits?

The human body can only do so much. The human mind can do a little more. It can imagine feats that the body would be incapable of. It sees this inability as a problem .

" Problems? I don't want your problems. Find Solutions . " A familiar quote by an inspiring trainer.

From Inability and Inhibitions come Problems. From Problems come Ideas .

We are missing Solutions.
Ideas , we can say , are semi-formed. Yes, it is an idea. Yes, it may work. Yes , you NEED to try it out. Ideas aren't always the most realistic thing there is. Audacious, unbelievable , but somewhat possible.

From Ideas we move to Action . Without Action there will be no Progress and without Progress we shall have no Solution at the end of the day . What was once flowing water will go stagnant and what is stagnant shall become an eyesore.

What inhibits us from the Action is , fear. Fear is undeniably a double-edged blade of an instinct.
It protects us from harm . Fight or Flight. Adrenaline rush -it gives us the extra push to save ourselves.

Sometimes fear renders us useless.

Big problem.

What is our Solution?

What is truth to you?
Without truth there will be doubt and suspicion . Without truth there is only speculation and assumption.
With speculation and assumption there can be no peace, no resolution .

It can well be said that the truth can set you free , if you accept it in good faith , with an open heart.
Conditionally that you accept it with no bitterness and harbor no grudge.
For in all , the truth is nothing but the truth. It is what has happened,

and you can't change it.

Regret will not change the past. It cannot change the past. It cannot bring you peace .
"Regret , " you may argue , " keeps us from repeating our mistakes . "

Partially true. That is Awareness , not regret.
Awareness that what you have done is not right. Not the best option . Keeping in mind a sober thought the next time you make a move and actually picking yourself up and moving FORWARD.

Regret is wallowing in self pity , seeking refuge in the ruins of your past which in reality offer no protection whatsoever . No salvation .

Salvation lies in spirit. Your spirit. Your will .
How you choose to accept the truth is all in your hands. What you choose shall be what you get.

Which brings us to the matter of the Law of Attraction .
The theory of this aptly named Law is that positive thoughts release positive energy and vice versa. Thinking positive brings positive outcome and vice versa.

Simple? Absolutely .
However the human mind is built with alcoves and dark corners for negativity to lie stagnant and fester , rafters for the cobwebs of doubt and regret to accumulate .
If they say this so-called Law of Attraction exists , why do they still exist? They , meaning those who dream about what they want , constantly on their minds , gnawing on their conscience.

Like any other law , The Law of Gravity , for instance, the Law of Attraction is Always present.
The Law of Gravity governs planet Earth and the Universe beyond and so does the Law of Attraction .

Like the Law of Gravity , it is unreliable. It is not always on our side. We do not sign a contract with it binding it eternally to us , no . Falling from a building kills you . Gravity's work. Yet the Romans built aqueducts which supplied aqua vitae - Water , to their cities. Gravity's work.

Make the Law work in your advantage. Own it. Control it.
The Law of attraction attracts what you think . Fine , think positive then.
I'm thinking positive !! Nothing's happening!
Patience.
Patience?? How long do you expect me to wait??
Not willing to wait ? Then ACT.

Inspiration is vague. Artists , Musicians , Scientists , they all use Inspiration to describe that inexplicable push. Inspiration is a product of the Law of Attraction. They were there at the right place at the right time AND reached out to do the right thing.

The Law doesn't spoonfeed you.

It provides Opportunities
It gives you choices
It empowers you .

Reach out. Take it. Make a difference.

How much do you know?

About?

Well,anything. How much do you know. Do you know a lot? Nothing ? Very little? Everything?

Knowing is infinite, knowing is immense.
There's only this much that we know, but well , there's so much more that is out there for us to find out.

For us to discover, for us to take in what had already been discovered.

Learning is a process. You don't just learn what you set out to learn , you pick up what you experience along the way .

Dormancy & Reflection

I haven't been updating my blog for ages it seems now, loads of things have happened.
Firstly ,here's a post that has been long overdue . On my mind but not on paper .
There's always time and reason for some self-reflection , maybe to get your thoughts in check or finding a pathway for your problems. To keep your errant attributes muted and controlled.
I know that there's a lot for me to be thankful with .

No matter what happens in our lives , we should always bear in mind one thing - that we always have something to be grateful for . The majority of us are fortunate to be with something to be grateful for , but perhaps not insightful enough to realize the gravity of it .

Johor the Eternal .

Right from the very start .. I never regretted joining St John. All the more joining the competition team. I never regretted my sacrifices and I am thankful that what I gained, what I saw , what I experienced , has outweighed my sacrifices. It really is indescribable.

Loyalty is what kept me here , the bond , the friendship .
Not limited to my 4 clown-mates, but the other fifteen clowns now known as team Johor.
Plus the five Ambulance Cadet members . Once enemies, but not anymore:)

Congratulations to Team Johor! You all are champions in our eyes and hearts and minds.
Remember the cheer ,

I wouldnt have missed this national comp for anything :)
PULAPOL is hallowed ground for us , and it still is. It still will be .
Where Johor first lifted their victory trophy for the first time in the new millennium ,
That is the legacy of Johor.
Remember , the cup is material. V.S. Maniam was right in giving us the cups for only 1 month.
It is material. Down the road, you look at the cup . The pewter is cold to the touch.
You think back at those memories still fresh in your mind .
Those warm memories, the blazing passion .
That is what we should hold on to , forever.
We are blessed, Team Johor. We are blessed that we could come together in this way .

The Journey

25th of April : SJAM State Competition .

This post is addressed, first and foremost to my teammates , who have been here with me .
Next, Team JB - AA,NA,NC, whom we have been training and building an astonishing bond with.
Last but not least - Seniors and trainers. Everyone who trained us, inspired us, pushed us,and woke us up. Division ONE seniors, Present and Past. Team JB trainers, from different schools united for One Cause . And of course, Mr. Perba. For being extra-inspiring.

Well, it ended there for us. Just for now.
I cannot describe the tension in the air that day. When the results were announced that we got second for Long case. That long case which was set up to bring us down. 12 minutes ? And you call that overtime.

Wait, the results haven't been announced yet. Have faith.

Faith.

Faith.

Thank you everyone, for your wishes. Do not be surprised, we did not win.
It is hard to describe to anyone , the pain of losing. It is hard to describe how much it means to us. The pain of losing was not regret . We did not regret. We did our best, and I am proud of you.
#1,#2,#3,#4. Here's your #5 speaking. Rather, we felt grief and anger. Team JB , going onwards without us.

The most painful thing was watching my teammates cry . Our leader , who had done his best.
Number Two , Three, Four . Not just Ambulance Cadet. The whole of team JB. Nursing Adult, Ambulance Adult, Nursing Cadet. The Victorious Ones. They cried with us.
I really cannot describe how it felt. Trying to hold back, giving a smile, but when I saw that, I just lost control.

My team and I, we'll really miss training with you people :)
I can say right here, right now, I never regretted getting myself into this. I never regretted a single moment of our training . The past few months, especially after district, my life has been centered mainly around St John.

I'll never regret it .
The way we, JB, train , is different. We not only build skills and techniques. We build People. We build Teams . We build Spirits.
Team Spirit.

Lets go way back. Team, we were formed around mid- November. We thought we went well then. We went through lots of hardship together. Training, punishment, talk. Personal problems.
External problems.
I am proud of us.
How much we improved, how much we changed.
Some may have seen it, some may have not. But as sure as hell I have.

We got through district level .
training awaits. I still remember our first ever training at the HQ. We had only met the AA team a few times before this. Some during the Camp , competition and at the first meeting in the HQ.
We didn't know each other . AA , we saw you as really serious people. Except Kok Siew. HAHAHHA :D

NA came a few days later , we thought you girls were like, super disciplined and were gonna be boring XD
honestly!
Well ,we were very wrong . VERY VERY WRONG!

NC came in , after 2 changes of teams. Hey there, we thought you were like NA too :)

2 Months. Here we stand now. I never knew such a strong bond between a team like this.
Team JB, we are the best.

Congratulations to AA !! Sze Hao, Jun Jia, Sau Wei, Kok Siew, Adrian . A great victory ! All the tension before the competition paid off. Keep growing stronger! Sorry we wont be there to be your victims, and yes, Adrian!! Set good cases!! We'll miss kacauing you people, especially JANG:D , Kok Siew, and seeing Sze Hao do his weird stupid cute face X)

Congratulations to NA!! Inn Qing, Chee Yan, Yu Ning , Hui Ling, Ke Xin. You didnt make it last year. This year you came back for revenge, you made it. That's what we're going to do next year,God bless. Perseverance:) We'll miss kacauing you all as well , especially Yu Ning,your voice will get higher and higher the more you scold us back then your whole team will come back her up while Ke Xin tries to calm her down :)

Congratulations to NC!! Yen Yin, Li Xin, Lee Kee , Qian Hui , Wan Fang , Be the first National Champions for NC Johor has ever had:) We'll miss kacauing you GANGSTERS!! And seeing you all gang up on Edwin :P speaking of edwin - WWF , remember the monkey thingy .ahhahahah

In short, we'll miss you all .Try your best : ) and always have faith . We'll be back whenever we can!

Hair-Raising

Had a weird dream last night.
I went for a haircut.
Yes, a haircut, not at the barber near Yassin ,but at this huge place with lots of mirrors.
TWO people were cutting my hair. Or was it a whole team of people?
Think of it as surgeons in an operating theater, that's how it was.
They were whispering in hushed tones , as if they'd made a mistake.
"I'm sorry , but your hair is too thick. We're trying to thin it" , they said as they turned me towards the mirror.

To my shock/delight/surprise/amusement, my hair was like, POOF. Like, a lot of hair. Like the Tokio Hotel singer.


Well , kinda .


So I told the fella to cut la like this and like that.
And I.....





Eagerly sat up awaiting my haircut.

seriously, I just sat up in bed . 4.30am.
then i said to myself , " damnn"




Hair will grow, and hair can wait :)

I am extremely busy .

to whom it may concern and i am sincerely concerned about.

I'm sorry about the choices I have to make for now. I'll say now that i'll choose commitment over going out with friends. don't get the impression that I have no regard for my friends anymore. No. Friends, you are still in concern. its just that I cant always be there for you . Its just that i'll have to make sacrifices and pay the price . It's going to be a few months. Adaptation comes with time . For these few months we will live with this new lifestyle. or rather, LIFE.


Over the past few months I've experienced the feeling of making sacrifices and forgoing things . Even more so to those who have been in this for longer.


Ask yourself , If you cant take the pain of sacrificing , can you take the pain of losing ?
and if the pain of sacrificing is too great even now, how are you going to face the cruel world ahead.


Steel your spirit . It does not mean a Heart Of Stone.

Make Damn Sure

First of all , my blog has been some piece of sh*t lying here undisturbed for like , quite some time.

I didn't blog about Chinese New Year, Happy new year! best of luck for the year of the tiger.
It was a fulfilling holiday , in a way I can't really and won't bother to explain.

What have I been doing lately? First formative exams just ended today , and like, who gives much of a damn about it but yeah it's still an exam and I feel compelled to at least..

pull through. At least prepare a bit compared to those who didn't prepare at all.

Its in our nature that we need CONFIDENCE for everything we do. Well , at least if you desire results . Sometimes all that's missing is that little bit of confidence. The secret ingredient. the CHEMICAL X. << WTHH!!

In my opinion , there are 4 levels of confidence.

Lack of confidence.
Confident .
Supreme Confidence.
Over- Confident.

Obviously SUPREME is the best la. Supreme confidence only comes with thoroughly knowing what you do. like, make damn sure of what you're doing. It comes with practice, and experience.

Lets at least be Confident.

On the 25th of January , A group of 5 school-age students barged into a quiet little barber shop near Jalan something ( next to Restoran Yasin near Thistle LA.) .

They demanded to have their hair cut BOTAK.
The owner of the establishment , Mr. ____ was surprised at their request but had no idea what he was up for.


They helped themselves to the papers and made themselves comfortable.
Unfortunately there were only 3 chairs so the other 2 were walking around and making the barber uncomfortable.
After a hasty job on the 2 remaining customers, the barbers invited us to take our place in the hotseat.







The video surveillance equipment managed to pick up two videos .

We are One.

Sometimes all we need in life is Direction . With that , a little push in the right way , sometimes, a big shove .

we need our friends around us to keep giving us those little nudges to keep us going forward , and it takes ,

a real friend.

to really push you . push you to ensure you go in the right direction , to ensure that you keep going .

Never take your friends for granted. If you regard someone as a friend always have this thing called TRUST.

TRUST that what your friend is doing is best for you. TRUST that your friend still TRUSTS you. TRUST that your friend still feels the bond of friendship . TRUST that they wont let that friendship fall apart.

As a leader , one needs to be strong. One needs to be that person who is willing to give the push to his whole team .

and the team needs to TRUST the leader.TRUST in him that HE will lead them in the right direction that HE will know what to do .

Finally you've woken up , enlightened , awakened.

Our calling is now. Right from this moment , full speed ahead.

With desire burning in our hearts and skill at our fingertips.

Go for Glory and Greatness.

whoops!! i realized that when I changed my blog skin I forgot to save my LINKS list. NO!

anyway , I'm trying to write left4dead in EC. seriously , the Den is an awesome holdout / safehouse.

Lessons learnt , and there goes the fear .

Life is the subject, and the world is the teacher.

Reading quotes and stuff and motivational stories , you won't actually get the FEEL of it until it really happens to you , and you can point it out and relate to it.

In life, we should always try something new. Most of the time, what stops us from trying something new is not a lack of ability . It is lack of self confidence, and FEAR.

Lack of Confidence , and Fear are really similar , but there's always the difference .

What I have experienced is that ,

Overcoming your doubts and fears isn't easy , but once you've done it once, it's easier the second time.

Knowing you can do it, you will do it.

ECAC10 , we learnt some valuable lessons from that fun session in school right?

Our classes have been decided , although its apparently not really settled , permanent and set in stone yet .

3 Science classes . As usual , they're following the quota like, 7 chinese 7 Indians the rest Malays ,

EC AC 10 is together in the same class .

We've got some pretty awesome teachers , Puan Vijaya for Addmath , and and and MISS SHYAMALA FOR ENGLISH!! WOOTS!

I don't know who the other teachers are! But they seem ok la. hahah :D

About 4D , Michael and Shaarvin are there. mehehe.
Aih , class will be different without two of them .. seriously!

Nah , i'm sure they'll be good boys .
Work hard everyone , we have to redeem EC's falling grades and detoriating status , serious shit.

day One

day One in the Dewan . OKAY I KNOW, LAME!
Anyway back to school, and the heck.. on the first day of school you can see all sorts of screwed up stuff.
For instance they decided to play "Bahasa Jiwa Bangsa" for the first time ever at assembly and and and plus plus there was this VIP from dunno which education department , and everyone who didn't know how to sing it (almost everyone) went raraaaarararaaa like Lady Gaga Gone Bad.

As usual after a long holiday , people come to school with long hair, brown hair , red hair etc etc tail at the back .
No badge, no nametag .

The group of students at the "detention" area after assembly was from the first dewan door , to the 3rd. Approx. 8m .

Apart from that , we form 4s spent the whole day in the Dewan , listening to talks about career and our available course packages , and the counselor asking us to close our eyes and imagine..

" bayangkan anda berada di atas sebuah kapal.. di tengah laut... bayangkan.."

then reaching islands where the locals have their own characteristics etc etc and it's supposed to like, indicate what kind of career we are suitable for etc etc .

etc.

It's actually nice to have some homework to do , from Omega . Add math. :) chehhh.
The teacher's good, well , not slow , clear and helpful .
It would help more if people stopped coming for class late ! ;p

Starting!

2010's here and uh , yes , SCHOOL IS STARTING TOMORROW .

Had my first tuition of the year , add maths at omega.
Latecomers should be punished for disrupting the class!

Anyway I'm preparing myself for a jam-packed schedule this year which I have to keep.
I need to be more disciplined and spend less time on less important things (eg; facebook )

School > Training > Homework , First aid / case planning

this schedule will go on till June/July.

Will probably. Nope, we've made up our minds that it will!
