yes , our beloved country will be 51 in a few days time . lets be patriotic like Hui Hao , the little
kid who came for the Pulau Redang trip and was singing "tanggal 31 " till he fell asleep .

Pulau redang is really something to be proud of . nature in all its glory .
something singapore doesn't have . (NEHHHH ) : p

after a very cold bus ride ( 10 pm until 7.30 am the next day , including toilet stops )
we arrive in terengganu . the group consists of :

mainly aunties . tsk tsk . 5 uncles .
thankfully got teenagers (lily and xuan ) and one not very young not very old person .( eng li )
and one small kid ( the patriotic ah hao )

stomach sudah lapar (or lapak as ah hao says it )
nasi minyak terengganu with gulai ikan tonggol . hahaha


half eaten before i remembered to snap a photo . terengganu drinks are very saturated with sugar.
a short journey to kuala terengganu jetty to set off to pulau redang .

an hour's boat ride to pulau redang . lunch.then snorkeling trip #1 ,
renting the eqps , life jacket give PINK one . no other colour .
then i need power mask since im like blur without my specs.
alas , the power masks are all PINK .
pink is manly . nvm .

while waiting ,we young ppl go off on our own snorkeling.
i havent gone snorkeling since, since , well . never , really. ahhah
head towards a small coral area near the beach. really nice, saw this big grouper
and lots of pomfrets. ahhaha.

diving spot at pulau lima .
following the guide around is nice, coz they show the nice places.
the guide flirting with the girls . heh heh . ahahahh.

saw clownfish ,giant clams and lots of coral .
i love snorkeling!

back at the beach , my mum give swimming lessons to my auntie who's bad at swimming .

i swim out with some ppl to the previous spot , and go a bit further out . more coral at the deeper end , and more fish as well . saw the grouper again , as well as some dory fish .

the call of nature forces me back to shore . damn! they managed to see baby sharks .

apparently redang isn't the same as 2 years back . the corals were more alive and there were more sharks . haha .

dinner is barbeque . yay . hahah . shafiq msg me and ask ,

" lim u coming tuition?"

i reply ,
"tuition? yeah .ill be a bit late tho . "

sleep at like 8.30 pm that day coz too tired .

day 2 .

wake up the next morning.
walk to the beach . then i realise there's gonna be sunrise . haha .




rajin fella . squat there for like half an hour . haha .

at breakfast we're talking about the sunrise . i suddenly say ,
" wasted, we missed yesterday's sunset . ''


it takes a while for everyone to realise we're on the EAST side of the island .
sunset is on the WEST side .

after breakfast is another snorkeling trip , this time to the marine park at pulau pinang .

the guides used fish to lure the moray eel out .
its freaking longer than me .hahahah . then there'e like huge grouper which's like ungku's perut buncit x2. maybe 1.5 .
and a lot of fish as usual. the coral there is nice at the deep end .
water keeps getting into my mouth coz my snorkel mouthpiece doesnt fit properly.
salt water makes you thirsty .

back to shore . lunch , then trip # 3
the place is called kampung lama tho there's no kampung in sight .
more clownfish over here . and many parrotfish which nearly bit my fingers off. hahah
found a cigarette while snorkeling .
*flashback* where we all are sitting near the boat controls . the fella is smoking and we point to the " NO SMOKING SIGN "

the ciggie 's gone .

where did it go? i dunno.

decided to try out scuba diving .

all geared up (no suit)


cheh . ahhaha.

compressed air from the tank is cold and dry . so the instructor , christopher teaches us hand signals , how to clear water from your mask , etc .

he forgot to teach us to use the buoyancy thing .hahah. or maybe we weren't supposed to use.
so start diving .
first time . its really nice, then i realise that they're below and im on top .
so i try to swim deeper . kick down .
i accidently held my breath . coz i thought i was snorkeling.
deeper underwater , the sea presents you with more than what you get by just being at the surface.
more fish , more stuff. bigger giant clams. and there's this coral where the fella go flick his fingers then it like shrink . like mimosa la. ahhah .

i tried to clear my mask then i accidently inhaled water .
water + the soap they cleaned the mask with .
bleukkkkk. sabun + salt taste in my mouth .ahhahahahah .

touching an anemone is like , it'll stick to your hand
then the clownfish will be darting everywhere.
lily and christopher kena hit in the mask by the clownfish . like finding nemo movie .ahhahah .
i realise im going up up up. i try to go down . im going up more. i stay still .
i start sinking . ehhh . hahahahah .
yay.

eng li is lagging behind . she keeps sinking . and very slow. chris is showing signal with two fingers and moving them up and down , ( keep your legs straight and kick slowly)

still slow.

scuba diving was really fun .

eng li says she wanna take leave next year to go get diving license .
sekali get liao come back to redang and cari chris .
"I GOT MY LICENSE !"

at night , everyone go cari blue sand . its actually plankton i think . or something la.
luminous blue specks in the water and sand at another end of the beach . squish it and theres a luminous blue smear on you fingers (tak sengaja one!!)


there .hhahaha. someone made sand turtle on the beach .

hmmm. next morning everyone wanna see the sunrise.

*travel tips to redang*
+rent an underwater camera . buying pics from them is like, rm 5 per pic. BLOODSUCKING.
+bring more clothes
+salt water is harder than gatsby moving rubber when left on your hair .
+.. i dunno. enjoy yourself.

then up to kota bahru ( kelantan) to eat nasi kerabu . not bad la. hahah .
then down to kuala terengganu . on the way eat dinner .
the warung woman thought lily was an actress . bangga like gila.
